The Dawkter's Wife - It's all champagne and caviar now … dahling

The Loony Bin

August 22, 2011

And so it begins.

School started for Andrew and Alex this morning at 8am.  In preparation of my sons starting 11th *gulp* and 7th grade, I was so worried about oversleeping that I couldn’t fall asleep.  The last time I glanced over at my clock, it read 3am.  I considered getting up, making myself a cup of coffee and just forcing myself through my Monday on no sleep.  This, of course, is the time that I dozed off into a what apparently was a comatose state.

I don’t know what happened to my alarm.  Alex came in at some point and re-set it and it didn’t go off … or did it and I just turned it off because I was so tired?

We’ll never know.  What happened though was probably the most epic bad start to a school year that we have ever had!

The doorbell rang at 7:45 am.  I’m sure it was the little neighbor boy who has annoyed me all summer with his early doorbell ringing.  I was angry at first and headed for the stairs before it occurred to me that … Holy Shit and pass the rum … the boys needed to get up for the 8am school start.

  2. Thanks Sylvia. I know I’m supposed to be blogging about interior decorating and sipping margaritas by the pool while Sven busies himself with the gardening … It’s just that life isn’t always like that. I feel like I am happy most of the time despite certain toxic relationships. I have learned to let go of the past and focus on my family … and how blessed I am in my life right now. Some days though, I get sucked back into the vortex. Today is already a better day … but thank you for your support!

  3. Hey Kris, I LOVE your blog because you keep it real! Life isn”t a bed of roses all the time for ANYONE I know who’s not delusional, LOL!!!

Your Dad is really “somthing” and I’d LOVE to take his call for you next time!

PS- I hate to say it, but I’m kinda glad he threw the booty shorts away. They really do send the worng message to boys/men IMHO.
